Moran River Kayaking Guide

The Moran River is a 2.2-mile stream just west of St. Ignace, running from the outlet of Chain Lake through Freschette Lake to West Moran Bay on Lake Michigan. It is short, shallow, and interrupted by small waterfalls — which is to say it is not a through-paddle, and no one in the paddling record claims otherwise.
