How to Join The Best Kayaking Community in Michigan
🌊 How to Join West Michigan Kayaking Club
West Michigan Kayaking Club is a community of paddlers who explore Michigan’s rivers, lakes, and waterways together. Joining is simple, and getting on the water is even easier.
We’ve built this group so people can spend less time planning—and more time paddling.

That’s it—you’re in.
🌊 How It Works
West Michigan Kayaking Club runs on a simple rhythm: we post trips, you join, and we paddle together.
1. Find a Trip
All paddles and outings are posted under the Events tab in the Facebook group. Each event includes:
- Location and launch point
- Distance and difficulty level
- Estimated time on the water
- What to bring and expect
2. RSVP
Click “Going” or “Interested” on the event to stay updated. This helps us plan group size and logistics.
3. Show Up and Paddle
Meet at the listed launch point at the scheduled time. We paddle as a group, keep a steady pace, and make sure everyone feels comfortable on the water.
🛶 What You Can Expect
- Regular group paddles across Michigan waterways
- Beginner-friendly and experienced paddler trips
- Weekend and seasonal adventures
- A welcoming, safety-focused outdoor community
No pressure. No ego. Just time on the water with good people.
⚠️ What You Should Know
- All paddlers are responsible for their own gear and safety
- A properly fitted life jacket (PFD) is required on every trip
- Weather and water conditions may affect or change plans
- Respect for nature and fellow paddlers is expected at all times
🌲 Our Philosophy
We believe the best way to experience Michigan is from the water—slow, connected, and shared.
This isn’t just a group. It’s a way to get outside more often, with people who value it just as much as you do.
