Notice of Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver
Wild Rivers. Rugged Trails. Real Adventure.
Participation in any West Michigan Kayaking Club event is entirely voluntary and self-supported. By attending or participating in any club event, each participant acknowledges and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with kayaking, paddlesports, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. These risks include, but are not limited to, personal injury, illness, property damage, permanent disability, drowning, exposure to the elements, wildlife encounters, or death.
Participants are solely responsible for their own safety before, during, and after every event. Each individual is responsible for ensuring they possess the appropriate skills, experience, physical fitness, equipment, and judgment necessary to safely participate. Every participant should honestly evaluate their own abilities and the conditions before choosing to join an event.
West Michigan Kayaking Club, its founders, organizers, trip leaders, volunteers, and affiliates assume no responsibility or liability for the safety, actions, decisions, equipment, transportation, or well-being of any participant.
All club events are strictly self-supported. Participants are responsible for supplying and maintaining all required safety equipment, including—but not limited to—a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD), kayak, paddle, whistle, appropriate clothing, emergency supplies, food, water, and any other gear necessary for safe participation.
By attending any West Michigan Kayaking Club event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and voluntarily accepted this Notice of Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver. They agree to participate entirely at their own risk and accept full responsibility for their own safety and actions.
