Over 100 Miles Complete — And the Journey Continues

HALFWAY THERE! 🎉

After Muskegon River Paddle #5, Tim and I have officially crossed a major milestone in our journey along the Muskegon River.

We’ve now completed more than 100 miles of our roughly 200-mile journey!

For Paddle #5, we launched at Crawford Park, northeast of Evart, and made our way downstream to the Hersey Boat Launch.

It was another great day on the water, covering 22 miles in approximately 5½ hours.

One paddle at a time, we’re continuing to work our way north and east, exploring another stretch of the Muskegon River and experiencing everything this incredible Michigan waterway has to offer.

A Beautiful Time of Year on the River

The Muskegon River was putting on a show during Paddle #5.

We spotted several green herons along the way, and we could see the trees beginning to transition into their beautiful fall colors.

There’s something special about being on the water as summer starts giving way to autumn.

The cooler air, changing leaves, wildlife, and peaceful surroundings make this one of my favorite times of year to be out exploring Michigan.

The river seemed especially beautiful on this trip, and the changing landscape was a reminder that every section of the Muskegon has its own personality.

Twenty-two more miles behind us—and plenty more adventure ahead.

More Than Halfway—But We’re Not Done Yet!

Crossing the 100-mile mark is a pretty exciting milestone.

When Tim and I started this journey, we knew paddling the Muskegon River would be a serious commitment. Mile after mile, we’re discovering new sections of river, new wildlife, new scenery, and new challenges.

And now we’re officially more than halfway there!

From the water we’ve already covered to the miles still waiting for us upstream, this has been an incredible adventure.

We’ve still got a long way to go, and we’re looking forward to every mile.
