Why Cycling Helps Your Kayaking
Cycling is excellent cross-training for paddlers. It builds the same kind of aerobic endurance you need for long river days, strengthens the legs and core that stabilize you in a boat, and improves overall cardiovascular fitness without putting repetitive stress on the shoulders and wrists the way constant paddling can. Regular evening rides keep your engine tuned between weekends on the water, help with recovery, and make those longer kayak trips feel easier when the season is in full swing.
Whether you’re new to the club or a regular on the rivers, these Tuesday rides are a great way to stay active, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and keep your paddling fitness high all season long.
